At Studio HENK, we strive to produce sustainable furniture to minimise our ecological footprint. Since 2023, our organisation has been Climate Neutral certified according to the Climate Neutral Group standard. This means that we have made the CO2 impact of our office and stores transparent, annually reduce it through a reduction plan, and offset the remaining emissions.

The Climate Neutral Certificate
The Climate Neutral Group offers two different certificates: "Certification for the Organisation" and "Certification for a Product or Service." At Studio HENK, we are certified for our organisation, which means we look at the footprint of our stores, office, and employees. During the certification process, our business activities have been carefully assessed based on stringent criteria:

• Mapping our Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions
• Annual reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions, reaching zero by 2050
• Offsetting the annual residual emissions by investing in CO2 reduction projects

Studio HENK's steps
We measure our CO2 emissions through a tracking tool, and we publish them annually in our Impact Report. In 2021, we emitted 171 tonnes of CO2, which we offset by investing in a Biomass Power Project in Chhattisgarh, India.

In addition, we have implemented a reduction plan to reduce our organisation's CO2 emissions to zero in the coming years, in line with the criteria. For example, we have a fully climate-neutral office, use energy-saving measures in our stores, and offer an electric biking plan to our employees.

However, we realise that, as a furniture company, the majority of our impact does not come from the organisation but from the production of our furniture. Therefore, in 2021, we embarked on the ambitious and challenging project of mapping the emissions from our production of which we can hopefully share the first results by the end of 2023.
