HPL Unilin Oatmeal Beige U822 sample
High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is an innovative material made from paper and thermosetting resin. This thin layer of HPL is laminated onto a thick layer of HDF.
The material is resistant to wear, scratches, and impacts, and therefore lasts a very long time.
Sustainability
HDF (High-Density Fiberboard) is a relatively sustainable material. It consists of pressed wood fibers, sourced from responsible forestry with PEFC certification. However, because a lot of binder is used in HDF, it is not very environmentally friendly and difficult to recycle.
