HPL Fenix Alaska White 0030 steel
High-Pressed Laminate (HPL) is an innovative material made from paper and thermosetting resin. This thin layer of HPL is laminated onto a thick layer of HDF.
The material is resistant to wear, scratches, and impacts, giving it a very long lifespan.
Sustainability
HDF (High Density Fibreboard) is a relatively sustainable material. It consists of pressed wood fibres, sourced from responsible forestry with PEFC certification. However, because a lot of binder is used in HDF, it is not very environmentally friendly and difficult to recycle.
Properties of HPL Fenix
- Ultra-matte surface with a soft feel
- Anti-fingerprint
- Water-repellent
- Self-healing top layer: superficial scratches can be repaired by friction heat
