Which designer table suits your interior?

While a rectangular table is perfect for family dinners, a round table is a perfect alternative for weeknight evenings or cozy dinners with friends. The shape of your table also depends on the space you have. Some spaces, for example, are made for round tables, while in other spaces it simply won't fit. But how do you know which table is suitable for your interior?

Before choosing a table, it is, of course, good to know what the possibilities are. If you know the dimensions of your living room, you can, for example, determine whether a round or rectangular table fits better. A convenient way to know how much space you need for a certain table is to measure 2x 70 cm to the width of the table. This is because you need seventy centimeters on both sides of the table to be able to sit comfortably and slide back. For a rectangular table with a standard width of 90 cm, you therefore need 230 cm. For a round table of 140 cm, for example, you need 280 cm. Contrary to what you might think, a round table is not always more practical in a small space.

The shape of your living room can also help you choose the right tabletop. A square space, for example, is in most cases perfect for a round table. Small, round tables often also work well in smaller kitchens. A rectangular table, as you probably already expect, is ideal for a rectangular space. If you have a narrower living room, it might be an idea to place a dining bench against the wall. This not only saves space, but it is also cozy.
