How to care for your table
Inspired by everyday moments, we created a collection of beautiful, functional, and durable dining tables. After all, finding the perfect table isn't just about finding a beautiful table. It's about finding a table you can use every day; a table where you can eat every day without having to worry about stains. To guarantee the durability of our furniture, we work with A-grade oak. However, wood is a natural material, which means the table also needs a little attention from you. But how do you treat your dining table so that it lasts even longer?
After a Friday night dinner, you can simply use the spray cleaner. Spray a little on your table and wipe it clean. When it comes to maintenance, a distinction is made between maintenance wax and hardwax oil. If you notice that the table is becoming less resistant to stains, we recommend using maintenance wax. Maintenance wax is a wax that you can easily apply with a cloth. You don't have to do this every week or even every month. Just use it when you notice that the table is starting to feel a bit rough. (Tip: the underside of the table is untreated. If the top of your table starts to feel the same as the bottom, it's time for maintenance. We recommend doing it once a year, or once every two years, depending on use). Read our extensive maintenance advice here.
Hardwax oil is an oil that you only apply if you want to give your entire table a maintenance treatment. You can easily apply Osmo hardwax oil with a microfibre roller. Make sure you apply the oil thinly and evenly. Don't forget to lightly sand the table beforehand with fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 400). After maintenance, the table will look like new again.
