Diipa lives in a beautiful, historic canal house in the heart of Amsterdam with her husband Oleg and daughter Dua. We spoke with Diipa about her love for interiors, where she draws her inspiration, and her favorite spots in the house.
Diipa, you have a beautiful personal style: how would you describe your interior style, and what inspires you?
My interior style can be described as minimalist, inviting, and calming. I love combining contemporary design with subtle Indian elements to create a unique and harmonious atmosphere. What inspires me most is the idea of creating a space that reflects my personality and provides comfort for my family.
When you travel a lot, it's extra nice to come home. What is your favorite spot in the house and why?
My favorite spots in the house are the kitchen and dining area. It's the heart of our home where we often gather around the dining table for snacks, gossip, and to enjoy each other's company. Whether it's morning coffee or enjoying late-night desserts, it's a space that brings us closer. It's the heart of our home!
What is important to you when purchasing a new piece of furniture?
When I buy new furniture, two things are crucial for me. Firstly, I look for durability because I want my furniture to last. Secondly, with my daughter Dua at home, I also look for pieces that are child-friendly and can withstand the wear and tear of daily life.
How do you like the Slot dining table, and what appeals to you about this design?
The Slot dining table immediately caught my attention because it perfectly aligns with my design aesthetic. I love how sleek and elegant the table is, which perfectly fits my aesthetic of minimalism and contemporary design. What's intriguing is its raw yet luxurious feel, making it a striking piece that adds character to my home.
